To Thanksgiving: A Cosmetic Bag's Gratitude Monologue

I am a cosmetic bag with corduroy material, at the moment I am looking at the humans in the warm light at the dining table from a half-open drawer, and I can smell the burnt aroma of food in the air. My zipper was like pursed lips, but the gratitude surging inside was fuller than the filling on their plate. Humanity expresses gratitude on this day, and in my flannel lining, there is also a list of gratitude that I want to say softly:

Gratitude * The first sound

The torch of Thanksgiving first illuminates the heart in my body. The mesh pocket on the left side holds the bottle of soothing serumthe one she wiped off in the office late at night when she was working on a client's project. The bald eyebrow pencil curled up in the right corner, the gilding on the pen barrel has already been polished into moonlight by the thumb, and it records how every hurried morning and night is neatly restrained. For every wear and tear on an item, I am grateful that this is a medal that time has given me.

Gratitude * The second sound

Whenever she trembly unzipped my closed zipper, her fingertips reached into my inner pocket, and the action of picking up and placing bottles and cans was always like playing a music that moves the heart: the click of rotating lipstick was the prelude, and the magnetic sound of the powder box opening and closing was the interlude. The proudest moment is before the important meeting, I used lipstick to draw an arc of smile, grateful for this touch again and again, so that the cold metal cosmetics and the soft me weave a reassuring rhythm together.

Gratitude * The third sound

When the powder shattered between her fingers, I silently accepted those shining sighs; When the perfume bottle suddenly leaked, I absorbed her panic with the lining. I am grateful that she regarded me as a gentle refuge, allowing me to witness firsthand how courage can re-emerge from a piece of cosmetic.

Gratitude * The fourth sound

The cinnamon scent wafting in at this moment reminds me of the candy she stuffed into my inner pocket last week, and she said "for emergencies", as natural as stuffing a lipstick. It turned out that before I knew it, I had become not only a cosmetic bag, but also a storage item that she carried with her: band-aids, spare scrunchies, pieces of paper with passwords written on them... I am grateful for these small life-saving straws, which have allowed me to grow deeper roots with her real life.

Gratitude * The fifth sound

My zipper is still stained with pollen from the cherry blossom season in March, and the fine sand on the beach in July is hidden in the inner mesh pocket. In the bumps by the porthole of the plane, I took her tears; Under the dim lights of the hotel, I witnessed her smile again. I am grateful for these migrations, which make me not just an ornament on the dressing table, but a witness to her regrouping.

Gratitude * The sixth sound

She didn't know that I could sense the mood from the weight of the item: when the anti-wrinkle essence was about to bottom, it meant that she had stayed up for several nights for the project; The newly added scar cream tells the story of a small accident. I'm grateful for this self-spoken understanding, just as she always remembers to straighten my zipper pull while I protect her beloved limited-edition lipstick with brushed corners.

Gratitude * The seventh sound

At this moment of thanksgiving, she was raising a glass and thanking his relatives and health, while I was lying quietly in her handbag, which contained half a tube of hand cream, an emergency band-aid, and the mint she had just stuffed in. This square inch of space holds something more precious than cosmetics: the gentle retreat that an adult reserves for himself. When the midnight bell rang and the aroma of the last dessert dissipated, she walked towards me, her fingers with the wetness of grape juice, gently zipping my buttons. I will continue my mission in the dark: to wrap her fragility and brilliance in a slightly fluffy flannel body. Human beings are grateful for great, but I am grateful for small. Human beings are grateful for fruit, and I am grateful for being a basket that holds fruit; They sing the light, and I am glad that I am the soft harbor where the light once anchored.

Gratitude * The final sound

Thanksgiving Epilogue The lights went out, I was gently put back in the drawer, the city was so quiet that only the breath of the "zipper" could be heard, and tonight, I secretly sewed the "gratitude list" into the lining:

  1. Thanks for being pulled open every time, not discarded.
  2. Thanks for the cosmetic items colliding with each other, but never complaining about crowding.
  3. Thanks for her believing: touch-up is not a disguise, but a reboot.
  4. Thanks that she never let me get dirty with the sludge of the airport check-in belt.
  5. Thanks for her gentle pat every time she cleans me up.

.........

The food will run out, the discount will end, but the gratitude will not expire and will continue..... Tomorrow she will pull me away, maybe for a meeting, a dinner, or a night of broken love when she cries until she takes off her makeup. Either way, I would use the painted shell, the toothless zipper, and the tenderness to say to her what only I could hear: "Go, be someone else s turkey, and be your own Thanksgiving."

Happy Thanksgiving, to all the tiny cosmetic bags that can make decency possible!
